Apple Crumble

150 g. Plain Flour
60 g. Butter ( Unsalted, Cold, Cubed )
60 g. Sugar (Golden Castor Sugar)
500 g. Apple (Granny Smith Peeled, Cored and Sliced)

Preheat the oven to 350ºF or 310ºF Fan / 180ºC or 160ºC Fan

Place the flour in a mixing bowl , add the cold cubes of butter and using your finger tips rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Mix through half the sugar and set aside.

In a 1.1 litre Pie Dish arrange half of the sliced apples in to the dish, sprinkle over the remaining sugar and place the other half of the apple slices on top.

Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top of the apples and bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes or until the crumble is golden and the fruit is soft. Serve with warm custard or double cream.
