Calzone

Serves 4

Ingredients

Method

1 lb. Pizza Dough, Store-bought Or Homemade
1 cup Ricotta Cheese
1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1½ cups Assorted Fillings (such As Sautéed Vegetables, Cooked Meats, Or Sliced Olives)
1 Egg, Beaten
Marinara Sauce, For Serving (optional)

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal portions.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out each portion of dough into an 8-inch circle.

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.

Spoon one-quarter of the cheese mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.

Top the cheese mixture with one-quarter of the assorted fillings, then fold the dough over the filling, creating a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, then crimp the edges with a fork.

Transfer the calzones to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Brush the top of each calzone with the beaten egg.

Bake the calzones for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Allow the calzones to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serve the Calzones hot, with marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
