1 cup Coarse Cornmeal
4 cups Water Or Milk
¼ tsp. Salt And Black Pepper, To Taste
1 tbsp. Unsalted Butter
1 tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese, For Serving
In a large saucepan, bring the water or milk to a boil.
Slowly whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Reduce the heat to low and continue to stir the polenta for 25-30 minutes, or until it is thick and creamy.
Season the polenta with salt and black pepper, to taste.
Stir in the unsalted butter until melted and combined.
Serve the polenta hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
