Beef and Broccoli (Niu Rou Hua Ye Cai)

Method
In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the broccoli florets for 3-4 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add the sliced flank steak to the skillet and stir-fry until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
Return the cooked broccoli to the skillet with the beef, then pour the sauce over everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring to coat the beef and broccoli in sauce.
Serve hot over steamed white rice.
