Ingredients
Method
In a large bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, Shaoxing wine, oyster sauce, ketchup, garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and red food coloring (if using). Mix well to make the marinade.
Add the pork strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, turning the pork occasionally to ensure even marinating.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
Remove the pork from the marinade, allowing the excess to drip off. Place the pork strips on the wire rack, leaving space between each strip.
Bake the pork for 25-30 minutes, basting with the reserved marinade every 10 minutes. The pork should be cooked through, tender, and caramelized.
Remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot with steamed white rice or as part of other Chinese dishes.
