50 g. Basmati Rice
1 l. Milk
100 g. Sugar
2 g. Cardamom Powder
10 g. Raisins
10 g. Almonds (chopped)
A Few Strands Saffron
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes, then drain.
Bring the milk to boil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
Add the drained rice, reduce the heat to low, and cook until the rice is soft and the milk is reduced and thick.
Add the sugar, cardamom, raisins, almonds, and saffron. Cook for another 5-10 minutes.
Serve the kheer warm or chilled.
