North American, Side Dish Nut Free, Cornmeal

Cornbread

Method

1 cu Cornmeal
1 cu All-Purpose Flour
¼ cu Sugar
1 tbsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
1 cu Milk
⅓ cu Vegetable Oil
2 Eggs

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a baking dish.

In a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, and eggs.

Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just blended.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
