Chicken and Waffles

Method
In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Dip each piece of chicken in buttermilk, then dredge in the flour mixture.
Heat the oil in a deep skillet or deep fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Fry the chicken pieces until golden brown and juices run clear, turning once, about 15 minutes per side.
To make the waffles, in a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Stir in the milk, oil, and vanilla. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture; beat until blended.
Preheat a waffle iron, and coat with cooking spray. Pour batter into the waffle iron in batches, and cook until crisp and golden brown.
Serve a piece of fried chicken on top of each waffle. Drizzle with syrup and butter if desired.
