North American, Side Dish Vegetarian Nut Free, Plain Flour

Bannock

3 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tbsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
¼ cup Unsalted Butter (cold And Cubed)
1¼ cups Water

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually stir in the water until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.

Pat the dough into a round about 1 inch thick and place it on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the bannock for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
