Sorrel Drink (Jamaica)

100 g. Dried Sorrel Petals
1½ l. Water
1 Ginger Root, Peeled and Sliced
4 Whole Cloves
2 Cinnamon Sticks
250 g. Sugar (Adjust According to Taste)
Lime Slices for Garnish

In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the dried sorrel petals, ginger root, cloves, and cinnamon sticks.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes.

Remove the pot from heat and let the mixture cool. It will continue to steep and develop flavor as it cools.

Strain the mixture into a pitcher or container to remove the solids.

Stir in the sugar, adjusting the amount according to your desired sweetness. You can add more or less sugar depending on your taste preference.

Chill the Sorrel Drink in the refrigerator for a few hours, or until thoroughly chilled.

Serve the Sorrel Drink over ice, garnished with lime slices.
