Buss Up Shut (Trinidad and Tobago)
Serves 8
Ingredients
Method
500 g. Flour
1 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Baking Powder
60 ml. Vegetable Oil
250 ml. Water
Additional Vegetable Oil for Cooking
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add the oil and water, mixing until a dough forms.
Divide the dough into balls and let them rest for about 30 minutes.
On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a thin round.
Heat a tawa or large frying pan over medium heat. Add a bit of oil.
Cook each round until golden brown on both sides, brushing with oil and continually crumpling it with a spatula as it cooks to get the “busted up shirt” effect.
Serve hot.
