Central European, Dessert Vegetarian Nut Free, Apple (Granny Smith Peeled, Cored and Sliced)

Apfelstrudel / Apple Strudel (Austria)

250 g. Flour
2 tbsp. Vegetable Oil
Pinch of Salt
100 ml. Warm Water
6 Apples, Peeled, Cored and Thinly Sliced
100 g. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon (Ground)
100 g. Raisins
150 g. Bread Crumbs
100 g. Butter, Melted

To make the dough, mix together the flour, oil, salt, and warm water. Knead until smooth, then let it rest for 30 minutes.

For the filling, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.

Roll out the dough thinly, then spread the bread crumbs over the dough. Distribute the apple filling evenly over the bread crumbs.

Roll up the dough with the filling inside. Place the strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter.

Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool slightly before cutting into slices to serve.
