Mămăligă (Romania)

Method
200 g. Cornmeal
1 l. Water
1 tsp. Salt
Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.
Add the salt, then gradually whisk in the cornmeal, making sure to break up any lumps.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes, until the mămăligă is thick and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
Serve hot, as a side dish, or topped with cheese, sour cream, or gravy.
