South African, Dessert Vegan Lactose Free Nut Free, Plain Flour

500 g. Plain Flour
10 g. Instant Yeast
10 g. Salt
30 g. White Sugar
250 ml. Lukewarm Water
500 ml. Vegetable Oil for Deep Frying

In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.

Add the lukewarm water gradually, mixing well until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface until it is smooth and elastic.

Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise until it has doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan.

Divide the dough into 12 equal parts, roll them into balls, and let them rest for a few minutes.

Deep fry the dough balls in the hot oil until they are golden brown, then drain them on paper towels.
