Jus de Bissap

100 g. Dried Hibiscus Petals
200 g. Sugar
1 Vanilla Pod
1½ l. Water
100 ml. Orange Or Pineapple Juice (Optional)
Boil the hibiscus petals in water for about 15 minutes.
Strain the mixture, discard the petals, and keep the crimson liquid.
Add the sugar and the seeds from the vanilla pod, then stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Add the orange or pineapple juice if using.
Chill the Jus de Bissap in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Serve the Jus de Bissap cold, as a refreshing drink.
