Traditional British, Sweet Treat Vegetarian Nut Free, Bread (Stale)

Bread Pudding

450 g. Bread (Stale)
110 g. Butter
175 g. Granulated Sugar
110 g. Sultanas
2 Stem Ginger Pieces 
1 Eggs
110 g. Plain Flour
½ tsp. Cinnamon 
½ tsp. Nutmeg 

Preheat the oven to 180ºC / 350ºF

Break up the bread and put in a colander.

Run the colander under the tap and use a plate to squeeze out all the liquid.

Microwave the butter and add to the bread together with the sultanas and 2 pieces of chopped stem ginger.

Beat the egg and add to the mixture.

Add the flour, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix thoroughly.

Place the mixture in a baking tin and sprinkle the top with sugar.

Place in the oven for 45 minutes or until ready.
