Penne all'Arrabbiata
Serves 4
Ingredients
Method
4 cups uncooked penne pasta
2 tbsp. olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. red chili flakes
2 cups canned whole tomatoes
Salt to taste
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Grated Parmesan cheese, to serve
Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
Crush the canned tomatoes into the skillet, add salt to taste, and bring the sauce to a simmer.
Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet, tossing it with the sauce to coat the penne evenly.
Serve the pasta hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
