Turnip Cake (Luo Bo Gao)

Grate the Chinese radish and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine rice flour, water, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and white pepper until smooth.
Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the Chinese sausage until it starts to brown.
Add the shiitake mushrooms, scallions, and dried shrimp to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until fragrant.
Combine the sautéed mixture with the grated radish and then fold into the rice flour mixture until well incorporated.
Pour the mixture into a greased steaming dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
Steam over medium heat for about 45 minutes or until the turnip cake is firm and has set.
Let the cake cool completely before slicing into pieces.
Heat the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pan-fry the slices of turnip cake until each side turns golden and crispy.
Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
