Crispy Beer Batter To Make At Home

The main point for this recipe is that everything and I mean everything has to be very cold. I keep my flours in the freezer and the beer in the fridge until it is needed. I also place a mixing bowl in the fridge to chill before I start.
This batter can be used for a multiple of different meats, fish or vegetables. Whichever it is that you are using it for, have them all prepped and in the fridge ready. Also heat the oil so that it is almost ready to use .
Remove the cold mixing bowl from the fridge and place the plain flour, cornflower baking powder and salt into the bowl. Mix together.
Remove the beer from the fridge and add half to the flour mixture. Whisk together to see how the consistency is. The batter needs to be like pouring cream so if it is still too thick add more beer until it is the correct consistency.
The batter is now ready to use so whatever you are using the batter for, season the meat, fish or vegetables , dust in cornflower and place in the batter mixture and place into the hot oil.
